The Internet Access and Training Program (http://iatp.projectharmony.ru) is an initiative of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs administered by Project Harmony Inc. to foster the development of the Russian-language Internet by providing free and open Internet access and targeted trainings to educators and alumni of US government programs. Operating a network of 32 IATP public access centres in 21 communities across Russia, Project Harmony conducts training programs, professional workshops and online events that promote the Internet as an educational tool and provide Russian citizens with the skills to develop quality Internet resources. Through IATP, which runs from Spring 1999 through Fall 2001, over 300 educators will receive comprehensive Internet training and more than 400 Internet-related workshops will be conducted.
