The main directions of research activities are:

Dr. Olga Lavrionova, Chief of the Information Technologies Development Department of the Russian State Library, the main library of Russia, is working on the information retrieval problems and linguistics means of their solving, has a long-term experience in implementation of information systems. She also published more than 80 scientific papers and led several projects.

Degrees: Dr.(Philology) in "structural, applied and mathematical linguistics" (Moscow State University).

Russian State Library (RSL) is the biggest in the country and in Europe, the second largest in the world. It holds over 42.2 mln. items. The library acquires and holds Russian and foreign publications from the beginning of book printing to the modern times in all living, dead and artificial languages. RSL also possesses a rich collection of manuscripts starting from the 6th century. The RSL is visited by ca. 7 000 people every day and over 30 000 items are issued to readers.
