Tambov Region Men of Letters on the Internet.

WWW-server http://www.tstu.ru has been created and developed by the experts of Tambov Regional Centre of New Information Technologies (Tambov CNIT) of Tambov State Technical University (TSTU). It contains information about Tambov and Tambov region, its educational and industrial spheres, historical and cultural heritage. Only experts of TSTU carry out work on complex presentation of regional information in the Internet. This accounts for a wide spectrum of produced materials.
Among the information about the historical and cultural heritage here should be mentioned the section "The Literary Men of the Tambov Region". It includes:
- brief encyclopaedic information about prose writers, poets, literary critics, publishers. It is a part of the reference book "The Names, Connected with the Tambov Region" (the section "Literature"). It contains 70 names and more than 56 photographs and portraits;
- the site about E.A. Baratynsky with the information about the Baratynsky’s country-house Mara and necropolis on the Tambov earth, his private life and family story. This information block contains practically complete list of E.A. Baratynsky's creations: his poems, prose, critical essays, selected letters;
- the site about G.R. Derzhavin, his family and biographical information. It includes the analysis of his creative work, information about Tambov period of his life and the most well-known odes, created on the Tambov earth;
- the site about A.M. Zhemchuzhnikov, the poet's private life, the story about peculiarities and stages of his creative life. The information is supplemented with a number of Zhemchuzhnikov's selected works, the most part of which was written in the Tambov region;
- the site devoted to E.A. Zamyatin with the biographical information, literature analysis, a brief information about a museum in Lebedyan, selected works (a story "The Grotto", a narrative "At the World's End");
- close to this theme the site "Tambov Path to Pushkin". It contains information about the prominent poet's relatives (M.A. Gannibal, N.N. Goncharova, A.A. Pushkin, M.A. Pushkina, G.S. Usova) and friends (N.K. Zagryazhskaya, N.I. Krivtsov, E.A. Baratynsky, E.P. Bakunina and others), lived in the Tambov region.
We grateful to local lore students, staff of the Russian language chair of TSTU and employees of Tambov regional library named after A.S. Pushkin for help in creating of this section. This part of our web-site is permanently being widened. The immediate task is to create sites about S.M. Sergeyev-Tsensky and A.P. Platonov.
Thus we made an attempt to present literary world of the Tambov earth in the Internet, giving more detailed information about those poets and prose writers, whose life was closely connected with the Tambov region.
