Description:
The Elena VRUBLEVSKAYA gallery has been created at the very end of 1998. And though her name can adequately decorate the auction house of old art, her actual institution works with the art of photography which is one of the most modern forms of visual culture.
The Elena VRUBLEVSKAYA's project is destined to the most wide audience which, with the time - as she hopes - will come to appreciate the new expressive plastic forms which Elena VRUBLEVSKY wishes to propagate. On the other hand, the gallery stakes on the category of the versed clients which taste has been formed with the radical experiments of the modern art. So, the circle of the constant clients and public of the VRUBLEVSKY GALLERY is rather narrow and separated from the rest of the world by the rampart of wealth and the ditch of myths about the exclusiveness of the creators and consumers of the actual art. Graduated psychologist, Elena Vrublevskaya is an attentive interlocutor, she tries to educate and emancipate her public. To educate it so that it really needs art which incamate it's most intimate and secret fantasies and desires. And emancipate the spectator from the jail of his everyday problems which should be solved with the adequate - everyday – methods. “The modern art is a burst out of energy which ejects the spectator into the transcendent spheres”.
The circle of artists presented at the VRUBLEVSKY GALLERY is not limited with the names popular in Moscow, but includes also the new ones. Yet having not too much proper space, the VRUBLEVSKY GALLERY makes also exhibitions in other Moscow institutions.
The artists presented in the gallery are gathered there by the personal taste of the gallerist, most of the works are art photos and have a form appealing first of all to the subconsciousness at the level of archetypic subjects and plots. Elena Vrublevskaya says that the art photos she presents are the opposition of the total art images to the total conditioning forms of the mass-culture. “The Sviatoslav PONOMAREV’s photos shift the assembly point (CASTANEDA), create a magic picture in a kaleidoscope of realistic ones”.
Elena VRUBLEVSKAYA hopes that the photographs presented in her projects will really compete the cult pictures of the mass-culture at this edge of ages.
